AfroAndina is a groundbreaking musical collaboration between Jose Luis Madueño and Ricardo Silva, blending New Age, Pop, Baroque, and Renaissance influences with traditional Andean sounds.
Jose Luis Madueño is a pianist and composer who was twice runner-up for best composer at the Havana Jazz Festival (2000, 2002) and founder of the groups 'Wayruro' and 'Chilcano.' Ricardo Silva is a folklorist with Afro-Andean roots, founder of 'Del Pueblo y Del Barrio,' who specializes in traditional instruments and Afro-Peruvian dance.
Together they create music spanning Wayno, Sikuri, Saya, Festejo, Zamacueca, Panalivio, Creole Waltz, Zamba, Chacarera, Joropo, and Tropical Groove — a rich tapestry of South American musical traditions.
