Rohan Reid

Kingston, Jamaica

Rohan Reid is a Jamaican bassist and multi-instrumentalist, the third of seven children born and raised in Kingston. He started on the bass guitar at six, was regarded as a child prodigy, and was touring internationally with the Grace Thrillers by ten.

In 1985 he co-founded Change, a group fusing gospel, jazz, and reggae that became the first gospel act to perform at Reggae Sun Splash and was featured in the Billy Graham Global Mission in 1994. He went on to become one of the most sought-after players in the Caribbean, touring as bassist and guitarist with Big Mountain, Jimmy Cliff, The Original Wailers, Najee, Eric Darius, Irene Cara, and Wisin y Yandel.

Since his 2007 debut Rifle Road, Rohan has built a solo catalog of smooth jazz shaped by his reggae roots — most recently the 2024 album Morning Kisses. He performs regularly at Disney Springs with the Reggae Revival band.
